Money chain scam websites in India 2024

India has seen a deluge of money chain scam websites in 2024 that have defrauded millions of their hard-earned money.

Below is a list of some of the latest investment scam websites.

All the sites use payment via UPI apps to invest in non-existant schemes in India.

Based on our analysis we saw the following common pattern in all the sites hinting that they are all either operated by a single entity or are run by different teams in a coordinated manner.

1. All sites use domain names similar to the original website.

2. The registration rarely requires an SMS OTP. Most sites just let the user login.

3. The payments are almost always managed via UPI - which seems to be easier for the scammers to set up.

4. All schemes give hourly or daily returns which are paid via UPI app.

5. The scams range from just days to a couple of months after which the sites are closed off.
